Thursday, September 30th, 2010Jürgen Horrwarth 2nd at Freestyle.ch 2010
Sunday, September 26th, 2010Rain, rain and more rain dominated on saturday in Zurich. Skateboarding and FMX contests couldn’t take place and were postponed to sunday. At least a little skate demo could take place later in the evening. The crossover session on saturday was set, live tv broadcasting can`t be postponed… And it was a great show as always. Freeskier Tom Wallisch took the title home to USA.
The weather god was gracious today and sent a mix of sun and clouds to Zurich. So the crowd came and all contest took place.
Jürgen Horrwarth who qualified 4th for the finals could jump on the 2nd place in the finals. Congratulations!!!
Freeskier Bene Mayr just missed the finals. The decision was questionable but set. So a 5th place for him.
Same in snowboarding, our riders Iouri Podladtchikov and Elias Elhardt both missed the finals and ended up 6th and 8th.
Unfortunaltey Renton Millar broke his nose and had to go to hospital. Get well soon!

European Skateboard Championships Review
Wednesday, August 11th, 2010
We are back from the European Skateboard Championships in Basel. Thanks to all for passing by.
The 10th edition ended with an unbelievable final in street with 10 amazing skateboarders. One of them was youngster Gard Jenssen Hvaara from Norway, who went all the way from the Junior Champs into the finals and ended on the 9th place. Axel Cruysbergh from Belgium, who was last year’s winner in street and miniramp, earned street’s 2nd place. In 3rd came Kilian Heuberger from Germany doing nose bluntslides down the rail and pole jams on the birthday cake-obstacle. This year’s winner is Nassim Guammaz from the Netherlands doing big back 360’s down the double set.
Aside from the street finals, the 8000 spectators who came to Basel over the weekend to celebrate ESC’s anniversary with us could witness Phil Zwijsen ruling the mini ramp with nice flow and endless lines, taking a well deserved victory. Also, Freddy Austbo came out to show his face, coming back from a long stint of being sidelined by injuries, taking second place right away, and a surprising Symon Stachon from Poland taking third.
Girl’s Jam was won by Ianire Elorriaga from Spain, who had already succeeded getting this title six times in it is ten years of existence. Second place went to Aura Brédat, third to Candy Jacobs from the Netherlands.

Go Skateboarding Day
Tuesday, June 15th, 2010
Last year Skateistan organized the first ever Go Skateboarding Day in Kabul, with more than 30 boys and girls taking part in a competition and skate session through the city`s streets. Go Skateboarding Day is a international holiday recongnizing the value of skateboaridng for youth around the world.
To recognize this special day the Skateistan team and the kids will be skateboarding through the streets where Skateistan was born, to the Skateistan park. Upon arrival at the park there will be a competition and all-day skate session, followed by a live Skype conference at 11PM between the kids at Skateistan and the Skate to Kabul supporters in Basel, Switzerland. The skaters in Basel have collected donations for Skateistan and are taking part in a Go Skateboarding Day event where they`ll skateboard along the streets for 5000m distance to represent the 5000 km distance between Basel and Kabul.
So go out yourself skateboarding and join any Go Skateboarding Day event around in your neighborhood!
