Ipod right before heading to the WM in Spain picking up his prepared boards

The final day of the 12th annual Burton European Open went off saturday  with Peetu Piiroinen (FIN) and Kelly Clark (USA) taking home the halfpipe titles. TSG rider Iouri Podladtchikov took 3rd place with big spins in the pipe to move into the TTR World No. 1 spot. Iouri was leading the first 2 final runs, but broke his board and bailed in the last run allowing Peetu and Kazuhiro Kokubo (JPN) to pass.

Iouri is now heading to Spain for the WM, after having his boards prepared by our boss. Good luck!

2nd place for Ipod at the Evolution in Davos

Sunday, January 9th, 2011

TSG rider Iouri Podladtchikov got 2nd at the O’Neill Evolution Halfpipe finals in a spectacular day of snowboarding action.

It was a close fought final in the 6Star TTR Men’s competition with the top three on the podium – an all Swiss affair of Christian Haller, Iouri Podladtchikov and Jan Scherrer  – exchanging the lead after each heat.

It was Christian however who took the final victory and the $15,000 prize money after his third heat run with a score of 87.45 for a run of a Backside 540 Melon, Frontside 1080 Tail, Cab 1080 Nose and Frontside 900 Mute.

Last year’s winner Iouri Podladtchikov had been leading after his second run of a Cab 720, Frontside Crippler, Backside Double McTwist 1260 and a Frontside 1080 Tail.

“I was thinking that I could have made it two wins in two years after landing my trick. But it feels great to have Christian in front of me. Of course it hurts a bit. But it’s Christian. If it was someone else I would probably be more pissed right now.”

Jürgen Horrwarth 2nd at Freestyle.ch 2010

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

Jürgen Horrwarth Alley-Oop

Rain, rain and more rain dominated on saturday in Zurich. Skateboarding and FMX contests couldn’t take place and were postponed to sunday. At least a little skate demo could take place later in the evening. The crossover session on saturday was set, live tv broadcasting can`t be postponed… And it was a great show as always. Freeskier Tom Wallisch took the title home to USA.

The weather god was gracious today and sent a mix of sun and clouds to Zurich. So the crowd came and all contest took place.

Jürgen Horrwarth who qualified 4th for the finals could jump on the 2nd place in the finals. Congratulations!!!

Freeskier Bene Mayr just missed the finals. The decision was questionable but set. So a 5th place for him.

Same in snowboarding, our riders Iouri Podladtchikov and Elias Elhardt both missed the finals and ended up 6th and 8th.

Unfortunaltey Renton Millar broke his nose and had to go to hospital. Get well soon!

Iouri Podladtchikov wins the X Games Europe

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Iouri made it! After his unlucky 4th place in Vancouver, he strikes back and wins the halfpipe contest at the first european x games in Tignes.

Iouri’s showed in his great final run Cab double cork 1080, inverted frontside 540 and then the trick that he learned a week ago (and landed on his second try) – the double McTwist 1260, aka Shaun White’s trick, in the middle of his run. He went on to lay down a frontside 1080 and Cab 720.. This run was scored with 98 points! What a dream result! And the highest in Winter X history.

Iouri I-Pod Podladtchikov 4th at Olympics

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

what a night!
alarm clock was ringing at 4:50am. Snowboard finals were calling and we had to watch Iouri rocking the pipe in Canada.
First run was looking great. I-Pod dropping. He shows a a nice frontside air, back 9, front double 10, cab double 10, front 5, and a huge claim to finish things off. great performance, Scotty Lago went bigger but I-Pod is on second position.

Well, not to mention that Shaun White went huuuuuge again: method, double cork, cab double, front 5, back 9….

Second run is on. All bail so far.  You can feel the tension in our living room… we keep the fingers crossed for Iouri. Peetu Piiroinen drops in: Front 7, double cork 10, lien, back 9, front 10. It was big. Second place for him.

Now Iouri has to top it! Go Iouri go! front air, back 9, double 10… bailed. That’s it for him. He will stay in fourth position. Not a medal, but we are still proud of you Iouri!

Congrats for your great performance and enjoy after olympic vibes!
