The Out Of Bounds mountain bike freeride festival hosted the 5th anniversary of the 26TRIX dirt jump contest. 60 riders from 17 countries rocked the dirt line located next to Bikepark Leogang’s gondola station to get a junk of the overall prize purse of 10,000 Euros. TSG`s Cameron McCaul took the most points for the FMB World Tour due to the “Gold Event” status of the 26TRIX. TSG`s Sam Pilgrim ended up 4th abd Amir Kabbani 8th.
After the qualifications on Friday, overall 16 riders made it into the finals. The slope was crowded on Saturday late afternoon, when the finals were about to be kicked off. The riders showed that they know a lot about competition tactics, showing their biggest tricks only during the finals. Not any of the big banger tricks had been seen in the training sessions before.
It was the Canadian Brandon Semenuk, who led after the first of two runs. He pulled a tailwhip at the first step up jump, a 360 at the step down, as well as an opposite 360 at the hip, to shoot into the “Airtime Line” (first double 11 meters distance, second 8 meters) and going big with a backflip x-up one foot and a truck driver at these two big doubles. The finished this run with a tailwhip before the last turn and a flipwhip and the finishing jump. Not an easy job for the competitors to beat this one of its kind clean run.
But it was CAMERON MCCAUL who proved to have the best combination of style and tricks this weekend: Backflip, barspin and tailwhip in the first section, Tailwhip and frontflip on the two biggest doubles, as well as a tailwhip and flipwhip at the end – all very clean and with extremely high amplitude. Brandon tried to get back on first position of the ranking but slipped the pedal once and ended on second place.
Other highlights of the finals were: SAM PILGRIM’s runs packed with backflip no handers and x-up one foots, 360 whips and flipwhips, as well as Yannick Granieri’s inverted 360 on the Airtime Line.
Also TSG rider AMIR KABBANI from Germany, who ended on 8th position, showed a great performance with backflip x-ups, 360 tailwhips and flipwhips. Cam’s brother, Tyler McCaul got a very special prize for the best trick of the weekend – a 360 down side whip at the last jump. Bikepark Leogang managing director Kornel Grundner handed him over 26 cans of the “TRIXX” beer from Eastern Europe.

Last year Skateistan organized the first ever Go Skateboarding Day in Kabul, with more than 30 boys and girls taking part in a competition and skate session through the city`s streets. Go Skateboarding Day is a international holiday recongnizing the value of skateboaridng for youth around the world.
To recognize this special day the Skateistan team and the kids will be skateboarding through the streets where Skateistan was born, to the Skateistan park. Upon arrival at the park there will be a competition and all-day skate session, followed by a live Skype conference at 11PM between the kids at Skateistan and the Skate to Kabul supporters in Basel, Switzerland. The skaters in Basel have collected donations for Skateistan and are taking part in a Go Skateboarding Day event where they`ll skateboard along the streets for 5000m distance to represent the 5000 km distance between Basel and Kabul.
So go out yourself skateboarding and join any Go Skateboarding Day event around in your neighborhood!

Read here what the Scott 11 Team reports form their past World Cup tour stop in Scotland:
“We knew from the start, it was going to be hard for SCOTT11 to stay at the top of the world cup team ranking at the race in Fort William. It even got harder after Emilie Siegenthaler had to stay off the bike because of her gnarly crash in practice.
But Floriane Pugin, Nick Beer and Fabien Pedemanaud managed to keep us in first position with a brutally hard fight. SCOTT11 is now leading the team ranking with the same amount of points as Commencal Team of the Atherton family. And Emilie Siegenthaler is already back on her feet.
The last flat pedally section was where the race was decided. It was surprising how much time could be lost or won in 30 seconds of pedalling at the end of the course. Floriane Pugin was aware of this, because she had already lost more than two seconds in that part of the course in the qualifier. The rest of the team was hiking up to that section to cheer for her when she came by.
Floriane fought as hard as she possibly could and got into the finish with a lead of just 0.02 seconds. At the end, she was in third, as well as in the overall world cup standings.
Fabien Pedemanaud trashed his rear wheel up in a rock section, so it was rubbing on the sides of this frame. This made the pedalling at the bottom even harder. But Fabien put down all the power he had, and saved as many points as he could. 23rd place was still good for some points for his overall ranking, where he‘s now in 7th.
Nick Beer had said before the race, that he was going to attack hard. And that‘s what he did! He was pedalling so hard at the bottom that he almost threw up in the finish.
And what he got for it: His second best result of his career so far, a 9th place! He‘s now 15th in the overall world cup.
The excitement goes on. We are now traveling to Willingen for the Milka Wheels of Speed, and then to the third round of the world cup in Leogang, Austria.”

What scottish people call nice weather was a windy and rainy day for the Scott11 Team. The racetrack trough the narrow trees in Innerleithen was more slippery than in practice but the riders still liked it.
Floriane Pugin had plenty of fun on her Scott Voltage during practice and race. She won it with a lead of 4 seconds over former world champion Sabrina Jonnier!
Nick Beer was very fast already, racing onto 4th place behind the three locals Ben Cathro, Lewis Buchanan and Matt Simmons, only 1.35 seconds behind winner Cathro. Congrats!
