TSG supports ChillandDestroy Snowboard Finale in Arosa
Friday, April 9th, 2010Ville Uotila ends up 4th at Spring Battle
Friday, April 9th, 2010check out Ville’s part at the Spring Battle and read here what Ville writes about the Spring Battle and his horrible slam.
Ville: Today I had a last competition of the season in Flachauwinkel (Spring Battle). We had a good weather and two really smooth kickers. Only thing was that all the kickers were totally icy. I did on my first run the safety run: SW BS 900 and FS 1080. After the run I was thinking to do other FS 900 and cab 1080 combos but after last week’s success in Andorra I decided to do FS 900 and SW double cork 12. I almost got it on my first run but there was just too much impact in the landing so I wasn’t able to land it. On the last run I thought to do just 9 and 10 but I changed my mind and i tried to do the same run once again. This time I catched my edge in the landing and hit my head straight to the flat icy landing. I was super lucky this time ’cause I really think without TSG helmet it would be really serious accident. I got just a small concussion with a lot of pain in my neck. I ended up 4th but i’m still happy that i’m okey even the worst slam of the season. Now, it’s time for spring break including photoshooting and having fun with all the good friends!
Sam Pilgrim and Mischa Breitenstein attend the Vienna Air King April 10th
Thursday, April 8th, 2010
TSG’s Sam Pilgrim and Mischa Breitenstein attend the Vienna Air King April 10th and 11th.
The head of course construction, Andi Brewi, who also built last years’ dirt lines, modified the jumps set-up for 2010: “The starting tower is nearly 2 meters (6ft) higher, as well as the following dirt landing is built much bigger to create a perfect step down that can also be bombed with tricks. Due to the step down at the start, you will be fast enough for the following 6-pack. These three jumps feature complete new wooden take offs that are bigger sized than the years before and have a super smooth transition. These are combined with dirt landings, as well as a quarterpipe at the very end of the course that gives all riders the chance to proof their park skills.”
The riders will definitely go for it – in total there are 10,000 Euros of prize money, as well as three Panasonic digital cameras for the Top 3 and an extra HD camcorder for the winner. In general it will pay out to show some absolutely stunning tricks: directly after two hours of qualification runs on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 pm on, the Panasonic-Best-Trick-competition promises an inferno of trick combinations from 4:00 pm on. The winner of the best trick session can look forward to 500 Euros cash and a Panasonic HD comcorder. The Saturday will be topped off by the official Vienna Air king riders party at the U4 Club. But the TOP15 riders from the qualification shouldn’t party too hard, because the Vienna Air King finals are scheduled for Sunday 2:30 pm.
The Vienna Air king is the perfect kick-off for the bike season 2010 and the first Tour stop of the FMB World Tour. On April 10th and 11th, the Argus Bike Festival will attract more than 100,000 visitors to enjoy the bike exhibition and a great variety during the two days program. If you can’t make your way to Vienna, feel free to follow the live stream of the Finals on Sunday from 2:30 pm (CET) on www.watch26.tv/live. The live judging can be followed on: http://live.eim-solutions.com/vak10.

Thursday, April 8th, 2010If you consider yourself as a talented and creative designer you should have a look at this one:
Swatch and the TTR World Snowboard Tour launch the Swatch TTR Trophy “Art Rules” Design Contest and offer YOU a chance to make yourself a name in the design and snowboarding world around the globe. The Swatch TTR Tour is symbolised by its trophy, which is handed out at the end of the competitive season to the male and female Swatch TTR World Snowboard Champion. This trophy carries along the prestige of being the most respected snowboarding tour on the planet and is awarded to only the utter most top of athletes. For the 2010/11 season, a new trophy has been carefully crafted by the renowned German “Coarse” artist Mark Landwehr. The resin statue is 36 cm (14,4 “) high, weighs 4,5 kg (10,5 pounds) and it’s dashing looks make Oscar look downright plain.
We want to invite all of you creative minds out there to participate in the Swatch TTR Trophy 2010/2011 “Art Rules” Design Contest to create a unique design vision that represents the nature of the Swatch TTR Tour. You get the one chance of a lifetime to be part of the design outlook that fits in with the “Coarse” statue along with a new Swatch TTR watch to match, which will be produced and distributed worldwide in 2010/11. This will not only let you play an important role in the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour season but will also bring you worldwide recognition and press coverage.
You think that’s all?! By far not! Apart from the fame and glory that comes along with being the designer of this unique “Oscar of Snowboarding”, a two week creative vacation to Shanghai, including transportation and accommodation costs plus pocket money will be handed out. Everyone is invited to participate! The competition is now open and ends on April 25th 2010. The rules and details for submissions can be found on www.artrules.swatch.com.
The trophy winner will be announced at the “Art Rules!” event, held alongside the Swatch TTR General Assembly on the 21st of May 2010, in Barcelona, Spain. Check out the competition rules on www.artrules.swatch.com, get your colors out and start designing!
